The course is an outline of Italian Literature from the Origins to the Contemporary Age with a special attention to some literary movements, periods and authors. The course is based on the following material: original language textes, audiocassette with recorded lectures of poetry and literary pieces.

The course is thought for students who want to learn Italian literature for their own passion or academic and professional interests.

Each student can carry out the progam in several ways:

1. an overview of the most important Italian authors, literary trends and movements with lectures and analysis of prose and poetry
2. the study of a particular movement or author
3. the analysis of particular works according with student's interests or needs
