Art courses in the workshop
This course combines Italian language in the morning and lessons in a workshop in the afternoon where students can work on the pottery wheel, modeling, firing and painting.
The teacher:
Ceramic, drawing and painting courses are held by Maestro Antonio. He was born in Naples and since three generations his family is occupied with restorations and handicraft.
His work as a restores and his artistic production are complementare.
His father's experience as artistic stuccoer opened the doors to his works as restorer of old, almoust distructed objects.
In his workshop of artistic ceramics he realizes the restoration of damaged pieces like panels, rosaces, statues, sacres images in gypsum, terracotta, ceramic and porcelain.
After orders of his cllients, museums or antiquaries, he restores objects to be reused like ancient jars, anphoras, capitals.
Some examples are heraldic bearings of the Comune of Lastra a Signa or the reproduction of a Tuscany mensa year '400 exposed in the museum of Artimino.
In 1979 he obtains the gold-medal of Spoleto for his reproduction.
He is working for retailers or privates, taking care of personal taste.
He realized plate which was chosen to represent Italy in Berlin at the International Conferente of Handicrafts.
The Comune of Florence confers on his workshop the title: Selective Workshop Training.
