About us
Learn Italian in Liguria: Italian language courses since 1982
The ABC School was founded in Florence in 1982, where our main branch still is, and in 2015 we opened another branch in Liguria, overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, Sestri Levante’s Bay of Silence.
Specializing in teaching Italian as a foreign language, our primary objective is to offer courses on Italian language and culture of the highest quality.
In each of our group courses there is a maximum of 8 students per class (minimum 3): in this way, teachers can follow students' language progress more closely, stimulate them to learn linguistic structures and have more confidence in their expressive abilities.
Your Italian school by the sea, where we are
Sestri Levante (Genoa) is an ancient settlement founded by the Tigulian Ligurians, the oldest part of which can be found on the hill of the Punta Manara. It was of strategic importance during the Roman empire, then besieged and devastated several times during the Middle Ages, then in the 19th century it became a stop on the Grand Tour for European intellectuals.
The ABC School’s Italian language courses in Sestri Levante are held in Palazzo Negrotto Cambiaso, a classic aristocratic coastal residence, located on the strip of land that, with the Sestri promontory, separates the Bay of Silence from the Bay of Fables. You can study Italian in Italy in one of the most beautiful landscapes of the peninsula.
We have six brightly lit, air-conditioned rooms, some of which directly overlook the breathtaking scenery of the Bay of Silence, one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy.
Hans Christian Anderson stayed in this very same bay in 1833, where he found inspiration for some of his most famous works. An important literary prize, the Anderson Prize, is dedicated in his name every year, attracting writers and readers from all over Europe.
